Bill overview
This bill, the Protecting Against Compromised Internet of Things Technology Act, aims to enhance the security of Internet of Things (IoT) devices by allowing the U.S. government to add foreign companies involved in the production or supply chain of these devices to the Entity List. The Commerce Department will identify potentially threatening foreign persons and recommend their inclusion to the End-User Review Committee, which will then vote on whether to add them to the list. Companies on this list would be prohibited from receiving federal financial assistance or contracts for IoT devices.
