Bill overview
This bill aims to shift the U.S. Postal Service’s vehicle procurement towards electric and zero-emission vehicles. It specifically prohibits the Postal Service from moving forward with its existing contract with Oshkosh Defense to purchase delivery vehicles unless at least 75% of those vehicles are electric or zero-emission. The bill also requires the Postal Service to adhere to Buy American Act requirements and relevant labor and civil rights laws during this transition. This legislation seeks to reduce the environmental impact of the Postal Service’s fleet.
