Bill overview
This bill, the IRS Customer Service Improvement Act, restricts the time Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employees can spend on union activities using taxpayer funds. Specifically, it prohibits IRS employees from using official time between February 12th and April 15th each year for union-related activities. The bill achieves this by modifying existing law regarding the use of taxpayer-funded union time for federal employees. Any collective bargaining agreements created after the bill’s passage will also reflect these changes.
