Bill overview
The Federal Retirement Fairness Act changes the rules for how temporary federal employees are credited toward their retirement benefits. Currently, temporary service after 1988 wasn't always counted towards retirement, unless a deposit was made. This bill expands this, allowing all temporary service after December 31, 1988, to be credited toward retirement, as long as a deposit is made. This aims to provide fairer retirement benefits for employees who have served in temporary roles.
