The Community Solar Consumer Choice Act of 2021 aims to expand access to community solar energy for a wider range of people and communities. It directs the Department of Energy to create a program that supports community solar projects for individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and state/local governments. The bill also requires electric utilities to offer community solar programs and increases the maximum length of contracts between the government and utilities to 30 years.
