Bill overview
This bill aims to hold parents and guardians accountable for the arrival of unaccompanied minor children at U.S. borders. If a parent or guardian is an unauthorized immigrant, they will be permanently barred from obtaining legal status in the United States and deemed inadmissible. Even lawful permanent residents (LPRs) will be ineligible for certain federal public benefits. The goal is to deter the practice of parents facilitating the entry of unaccompanied minors into the country.
