Bill overview
The Health Act of 2021 permanently expands Medicare coverage of telehealth services provided by Federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and rural health clinics (RHCs). Specifically, it allows for audio-only telehealth services and removes restrictions on FQHCs and RHCs acting as the distant site for these services. Payments for these telehealth services will be made in the same way as for traditional services, rather than through a separate payment system.
