Bill overview
The Golden Visa Accountability Act requires the State Department to create and maintain a database of denied U.S. investor visas due to corruption or human rights abuses. Initially, the database will focus on denials within the United States, but will eventually expand to include records from other countries, prioritizing those in the European Union and the ‘Five Eyes’ alliance (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom). The goal is to prevent the misuse of investor visas by corrupt officials and ensure that the proceeds of corruption aren't used to obtain them.
