Bill overview
This bill permanently expands Medicare coverage for mental health services delivered through telehealth. Specifically, it adds several existing HCPCS codes to the list of services eligible for telehealth reimbursement. The bill also allows for the use of audio-only telehealth for certain mental health services, like screenings and evaluations, even if video technology isn’t used, based on clinical appropriateness determined by the Secretary.
