Bill overview
This bill requires the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to record video of its process when examining and testing items to determine if they are firearms or ammunition. The recordings must be made without editing and made available to owners and defendants in criminal cases. If the ATF determines an item is a firearm or ammunition, it cannot be used as evidence in court unless the recording is provided or a waiver is obtained.
