Bill overview
This bill, the Strengthening MSI Competitiveness in Research and Innovation Act, directs the National Science Foundation (NSF) to create a program providing competitive grants to eligible colleges and universities. These institutions – including historically Black colleges and universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, minority-serving institutions, and those with established STEM capacity building programs – can receive funding to bolster their research capabilities and infrastructure. The grants will support a range of activities, from enhancing administrative support for faculty to increasing engagement with industry and expanding research opportunities for students.
