Bill overview
The ROBUST Act aims to improve broadband access in rural areas by directing the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to identify and recommend leasing of unused or underutilized spectrum licenses to other providers. It also strengthens the Department of Agriculture’s Broadband ReConnect Program by prioritizing projects offering high-speed internet and providing support to new applicants. The bill seeks to ensure that spectrum is efficiently utilized and that rural communities receive adequate broadband infrastructure funding.
