Bill overview
The Back to Work Bonus Act aims to encourage workers to return to the workforce by converting existing federal pandemic unemployment compensation into a one-time bonus. Eligible individuals who lose their unemployment benefits due to starting a new job and remain employed for at least four weeks will receive a $900 lump-sum payment, subject to employer verification. The bill also ends federal pandemic unemployment compensation and modifies work search requirements for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance to provide exemptions for those experiencing COVID-19 related hardships.
