Bill overview
The Medical Supplies for Pandemics Act of 2021 aims to strengthen the nation’s ability to respond to future pandemics by improving the supply chain for critical medical supplies. The bill directs the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to increase stockpiles, diversify where these supplies are made, and form partnerships to boost domestic production. It also requires HHS to report on these partnerships and provides funding to support these efforts through 2024.
