Bill overview
This bill, known as ‘LuLu’s Law,’ aims to improve the fight against sepsis, a life-threatening condition. It directs the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to standardize sepsis definitions, make it a nationally notifiable disease, and develop a national strategy for treatment and prevention. The bill also establishes a national sepsis data trust to collect and share data, and provides grants to states to create interoperable state-based data trusts, focusing on at-risk populations and improving care.
