The Promoting Restoration of Emergency Preparedness and Advancing Response to Epidemics in Long-Term Care Act (PREPARE LTC Act) aims to strengthen infection control and emergency preparedness in Medicare and Medicaid-certified skilled nursing facilities and nursing facilities. It codifies existing regulations, prohibits reductions in survey frequency and waivers of reporting requirements during infectious disease outbreaks, and directs the Government Accountability Office to assess deficiencies in infection control and staffing.
