Bill overview
The Protecting the American Taxpayer and Medicare Act makes several changes to Medicare and related budgetary processes. Primarily, it extends a suspension of Medicare sequestration until March 31, 2022, and adjusts how sequestration reductions are applied in 2022 and 2030. The bill also temporarily extends certain Medicare payment provisions for physicians and adjusts how payments are reduced during specific periods. Additionally, it modifies reporting requirements related to private payor rates and delays the implementation of a radiation oncology model. Finally, it adjusts the Medicare Improvement Fund allocation.
