Bill overview
The Countering Human Trafficking Act of 2021 establishes a new Center for Countering Human Trafficking (CCHT) within the Department of Homeland Security. This center will coordinate DHS efforts to combat human trafficking, protect victims, and prevent future cases. The CCHT will focus on investigations, victim support, awareness campaigns, and improving procurement practices to ensure the supply chain is free from forced labor. It also directs the DHS to modernize its systems and processes to better address this issue.
