Bill overview
The Job Protection Act changes the requirements for employees to qualify for family and medical leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). It reduces the minimum employment period needed to be eligible for FMLA leave from 12 months to 90 days. The bill also expands FMLA coverage to include all employers, regardless of size, and applies to federal employees, presidential employees, and congressional employees, shortening their required employment period to 90 days.
