Bill overview
This bill, the ISAAC Alerting Act, directs the Federal Communications Commission’s Technological Advisory Council to study the feasibility and implementation of a 9-1-1 system specifically designed for individuals with disabilities. The goal is to create a system that allows individuals with disabilities, such as those at risk of wandering or who are nonverbal, to register profiles with relevant information, which would then be relayed to first responders during an emergency call. The Council will analyze barriers, recommend solutions, and estimate costs associated with establishing and deploying this system nationwide.
