Bill overview
The PAUSE Act of 2022 aims to maintain current restrictions at the U.S. border related to preventing the spread of COVID-19. It prevents the Department of Health and Human Services from weakening these restrictions and the Department of Homeland Security from reducing enforcement. These measures will remain in place until the COVID-19 public health emergency ends nationwide and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lowers the risk level for travelers from Canada and Mexico to a minimal level. Essentially, the bill seeks to prolong existing border health protocols to combat the virus.
