Bill overview
The Vote Without Fear Act makes it a federal crime to knowingly possess a firearm or cause a firearm to be present within 100 yards of a federal election site. This includes locations where federal employees are administering elections or processing ballots. The bill establishes exceptions for law enforcement officers, firearms in vehicles, and lawful possession of firearms on private property. Violations can result in fines, imprisonment, or both, with more severe penalties for intent to use a firearm in a crime or for causing harm during a related incident.
