Bill overview
This bill expands eligibility for the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program to include former members of the reserve components of the Armed Forces who have retired or separated from service after completing a term of enlistment. It also clarifies that eligible families include veterans, families with a veteran head of household, single former reserve members, and families with a former reserve member head of household. Furthermore, the bill allocates $50 million for fiscal year 2023 to support these expanded eligible families and includes a study on food and housing insecurity experienced by reserve component members.
