Bill overview
This bill amends the Grand Ronde Reservation Act to clarify and restrict land claims for the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon. Specifically, it limits the tribe’s extinguished land claims to only the 84-acre Thompson Strip. The bill also prohibits any gaming activities on land acquired by the tribe through land claim settlements, including land purchased with settlement funds. Finally, it reaffirms the treaty rights of all federally recognized tribes.
