Bill overview
This bill, the Securing Maritime Data from Communist China Act, aims to limit the use of LOGINK, a Chinese logistics platform, by the U.S. Department of Defense and other entities. It prohibits the Department of Defense from contracting with companies using LOGINK or similar platforms and restricts port operators and other critical infrastructure owners from sharing data with them. The bill also requires the President to negotiate with allies and partners to implement similar restrictions internationally, and to report on these efforts to Congress.
