Bill overview
This bill creates a pilot program to help deliver summer meals to children in need. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will provide grants up to $100,000 to schools and other organizations to purchase or modify vehicles for distributing non-traditional summer meal programs. Grants will prioritize institutions serving a large number of low-income students and those in diverse geographic areas, and recipients will be required to report on their program’s impact.
