Bill overview
This bill aims to make it easier for veterans receiving care in state homes for disabled veterans to receive per diem payments. It requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to create a rule that allows the VA to waive certain requirements for veterans to qualify for these payments. Specifically, veterans who meet at least four existing requirements or where waiving the requirements is deemed in their best interest can be eligible. The rule must also retroactively apply to payments made since January 5, 2021.
