Bill overview
The After Hours Child Care Act establishes a pilot program to increase access to child care for parents who work non-traditional hours, such as evenings, weekends, or early mornings. This program will provide grants to eligible entities – including existing child care providers and partnerships – to expand child care capacity, establish new programs, or improve existing ones. The goal is to support working parents and help them maintain employment and financial stability. The program will run for five years and require a 25% non-federal match.
