Bill overview
This bill, the Keeping Housing Affordable in Forgotten Communities Act, amends the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to strengthen the Reconnecting Communities pilot program. Specifically, it directs the program to prioritize consideration of community land trusts and other affordable housing strategies when evaluating projects related to the removal, retrofit, or mitigation of eligible facilities. It also requires advance housing planning activities, such as incorporating long-term affordability measures, to prevent displacement and preserve existing affordable housing.
