Bill overview
This bill aims to strengthen the Justice Department’s ability to combat the online trafficking of fentanyl by creating a system of incentive pay for specialized cybersecurity professionals. It defines ‘cyber skills’ as expertise in computer networks and information technology. The Attorney General can offer up to a 25% bonus to Justice Department employees with these skills, helping them detect, prevent, and prosecute fentanyl trafficking cases. This bonus would be calculated similarly to existing pay scales and wouldn't count towards overall pay limitations.
