Bill overview
This bill prohibits the United States from importing seafood and seafood products from Russia. The prohibition applies to all seafood originating in Russia, including products that have been further processed in other countries. The ban will remain in place until the President certifies to Congress that Russia has lifted its own restrictions on importing U.S. seafood. This legislation aims to address Russia’s retaliatory trade actions following the invasion of Ukraine and support the U.S. seafood industry.
