Bill overview
The Protection from Abusive Passengers Act aims to enhance safety and security on commercial flights by creating a system to identify and prevent individuals who have engaged in disruptive or threatening behavior from boarding airplanes. The bill establishes a list of ‘abusive passengers’ maintained by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), prohibits them from flying until removed, and permanently disqualifies them from TSA PreCheck and Global Entry programs. It also mandates the sharing of identifying information with the TSA and the development of specific policies and procedures for handling these individuals.
