Overview
This bill, the Social Security 2100 Act, aims to strengthen Social Security benefits for current and future recipients. It temporarily increases the primary insurance amount for all beneficiaries by 3%, adjusts the cost-of-living adjustment formula to use the Consumer Price Index, and provides increased benefits for widows/widowers in two-income households, children of deceased workers, and those eligible after 15 years of receiving benefits. The bill also eliminates certain offsets, such as the government pension offset and the windfall elimination provision, and combines the Social Security trust funds. Finally, it includes provisions to improve Social Security service delivery and accessibility.
