Bill overview
This bill strengthens the National Human Trafficking Hotline by requiring organizations that receive grants to share information received through the hotline with state and local law enforcement agencies, when requested. It does this by amending a key provision of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. The bill also mandates a report from the Attorney General and Homeland Security Secretary on how this new requirement is being implemented. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the hotline’s effectiveness in identifying and assisting victims of human trafficking and supporting law enforcement efforts.
