Bill overview
The Agency Accountability Act of 2024 aims to increase transparency and accountability in how federal agencies contract with small businesses. If an agency receives a poor score (below a ‘B’) on its small business contracting scorecard or fails to meet two or more government-wide goals for small business contracts, the agency’s director must testify before the Senate and House Small Business Committees to explain why. The bill also requires agencies to report on their scorecard performance and strive to improve their compliance with small business contracting goals. This legislation seeks to ensure that federal agencies are effectively supporting small businesses.
