Bill overview
This bill aims to improve the implementation of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) electronic health record system. It prevents the VA from starting new activities or expanding existing ones within the system until they can demonstrate that the system meets specific performance goals and that facilities are adequately prepared. The bill requires the VA to certify that the system is reliable, that staff and infrastructure are ready, and that implementation won't negatively impact patient care.
