This bill, the Supporting Innovation for Seniors Act, aims to expand Medicare coverage for certain medical devices and technologies. It modifies the Medicare program to allow Medicare Advantage (MA) plans to offer supplemental benefits for technologies that are currently covered under national or local coverage determinations but for different medical conditions, or for technologies that don’t fit into existing categories. The bill also gives Medicare administrators some flexibility to waive uniform coverage standards for these new supplemental benefits.
