Bill overview
This bill aims to significantly restrict the United States’ ability to facilitate financial transactions with Iran. It rescinds a key waiver that allowed for the transfer of approximately $6 billion in Iranian funds to Qatar to secure the release of American citizens detained in Iran and terminates licenses related to those funds. Furthermore, the President is prohibited from issuing new waivers or licenses that would allow similar financial transactions in the future.
