Bill overview
This bill, the Clear Communication for Veterans Claims Act, requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to improve the clarity and efficiency of the notices it sends to veterans applying for benefits. The VA will partner with a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) to assess these notices and recommend changes to reduce paper usage and costs. The VA is then obligated to report on the FFRDC’s findings and implement those recommendations to make the notices easier for veterans to understand.
