Bill overview
This bill aims to expand Medicare coverage to include hearing aids and the related examinations needed to obtain them. It does this by removing a longstanding exclusion within the Social Security Act. Additionally, the bill directs the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to study existing programs that assist individuals with hearing loss in accessing hearing aids and related services, and to make recommendations for improvement.
