Bill overview
This bill, the Stop Inflationary Spending Act, requires the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to analyze the potential impact of legislation passed using the budget reconciliation process on inflation. Specifically, the CBO must provide estimates of how each reconciliation bill will affect inflation, both in the year it’s enacted and for the following four fiscal years. This analysis will be required for bills reported to or submitted directly to certain House committees. The goal is to provide Congress with more information about the inflationary consequences of reconciliation bills.
