The Veterans’ Burial Improvement Act of 2024 aims to improve burial benefits and services for veterans and their families. It permanently extends eligibility for headstones and markers to spouses and children who predecease service members, increases transportation allowances for deceased veterans, and allows for group burial markers at veterans’ cemeteries. The bill also removes time limitations on burial benefits for Medal of Honor recipients and clarifies rules regarding burial in national cemeteries.
