Bill overview
This bill, the VA Housing Loan Forever Act of 2024, allows certain veterans who served between 1944 and 1977 to transfer their housing loan benefits to their legatees – including spouses, children, and grandchildren. It also establishes a process for the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to transfer the benefits of deceased veterans who meet specific criteria to their legatees within 10 years of the bill’s enactment. Legatees receiving these transferred benefits will be treated as veterans for loan purposes and can use them immediately.
