This bill, the Veterans Employment Readiness Yield Act of 2024 (VERY Act), makes a small change to how the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) describes challenges veterans face when seeking employment. It replaces the term ‘employment handicap’ with ‘employment barrier’ and ‘employment handicaps’ with ‘employment barriers’ in the relevant section of the U.S. Code. This change is intended to more accurately reflect the types of obstacles veterans encounter during the job search process.
