Bill overview
This bill aims to improve suicide prevention and care for veterans by establishing a ‘preferred provider list’ for the Department of Veterans Affairs’ community care program. The VA will create this list of healthcare providers who complete annual, evidence-based training on suicide prevention among veterans. Additionally, the bill requires the VA to report annually on the effectiveness of this list and make recommendations for further improvements to access to care.
