Bill overview
This bill, the BOOST Act, creates a tax credit for homeowners in areas with limited broadband internet access. It allows taxpayers to claim a 75% credit, up to $400 per year, for the purchase of signal boosters and related equipment used to improve internet service in their principal residence, provided the location is designated as an ‘unserved area’ by the Federal Communications Commission. The credit is available for a single taxable year and expires at the end of 2027.
