Bill overview
This bill directs NASA to develop a science-based strategy for monitoring and detecting methane emissions across the United States. The strategy will assess current and future monitoring capabilities, including space-based and ground-based sensors, and prioritize collaboration among federal agencies and with external partners. It also requires NASA to engage with stakeholders and submit a report to Congress within two years, considering regional differences in monitoring effectiveness.
