The BRAVE Act of 2024 expands an existing tax benefit for military personnel. It removes limitations on the exclusion of compensation received by deployed members of the Armed Forces from their gross income for federal income tax purposes. Currently, this exclusion is limited to deployments to designated combat zones, but this bill broadens it to include any deployment outside of the United States.
