Bill overview
This bill, the Personal Needs Allowance Modernization Act, aims to increase the amount of money that Medicaid recipients living in long-term care facilities can keep each month for personal expenses. Currently, the allowance is $30 for individuals and $60 for couples. The bill would raise this allowance to $60 for individuals and $120 for couples, starting January 1, 2025. This increase is intended to help cover the costs of daily living for those receiving Medicaid-funded care.
