Bill overview
The Combatting China’s Pilfering of Intellectual Property Act (CCP IP Act) aims to penalize individuals and entities in China involved in stealing intellectual property from the United States. It authorizes the President to impose sanctions, including asset blocking and visa restrictions, on those determined to be engaging in significant theft or receiving stolen intellectual property. The bill also establishes a process for waiving sanctions and terminating them when the illicit activity ceases, alongside reporting requirements to Congress.
